Experience:

I have over 22 years of experience in the disability sector, encompassing a diverse range of roles, including Disability Support Worker, Aged Care Worker, Rostering Coordinator, Complex Care Coordinator, Team Leader, Project Manager, Support Coordinator, and Behaviour Support Practitioner. Throughout my career, I have also undertaken various locum roles, further expanding my expertise in service delivery, support systems, and funding frameworks. This extensive experience has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the sector and the ability to deliver tailored, person- centered solutions that promote positive outcomes for individuals and their support networks.

Specialisation:

Mental health, supported by both lived experience and formal training. My personal experiences provide me with a deep, empathetic understanding of the challenges individuals face, while my training has equipped me with the practical skills and knowledge to provide effective support. This combination allows me to approach my work with authenticity, compassion, and evidence-based strategies, ensuring that I can empower those I support to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Achievements & Success Stories:

One of my most significant achievements has been the development of strong, collaborative relationships with care teams and participants, resulting in meaningful improvements to participants' quality of life. Achievement is a term that deserves more recognition, as it is rarely the result of individual effort alone. The successful implementation of strategies relies heavily on the dedication of care teams, whose ongoing commitment ensures sustainable positive change. I believe it is essential to emphasize that true achievement is a collaborative effort, reflecting the collective expertise, compassion, and persistence of everyone involved.

Success Story:

I am blessed to have been able to experience success with my participants. One of the most memorable successes was working with a young person and increasing their understanding of their triggering events related to their self-harming behaviour for regulation. This led to the participant successfully engaging in Functionally Equivalent Replacement Behaviours and significantly reducing the behaviour.

Collaborate

It doesn't matter where the support is coming from, as long as the person is receiving the supports they want and need.
